HollyNew York, NYMay 3rd, 2026
Holly is the HR platform built for city and county government. We help local governments modernize how they hire, classify, and manage their workforce-work that directly shapes public services for millions of people. Our platform is live across 8 states with 35+ jurisdictions representing nearly 5% of the US population, including major counties like Santa Clara, Contra Costa, Orange County, and Snohomish. Demand is outpacing our team, and we're building to meet it.Holly is a 15-person team with deep roots in public service, civic/govtech, and AI, backed by $2.2M from leading investors including J2 Ventures, Roble Ventures, and Gaingels. We build for the people we serve, centering public servants and impact in every decision, and we bring that same care to how we work.About the OpportunityWe're at an inflection point. With a rapidly growing pipeline, our next strategic challenge isn't just winning new clients-it's decoding the formula that makes them stay and scale. We're bringing for a summer team member to support in answering this question. You will build the customer intelligence infrastructure Holly needs to answer it: what our clients are getting out of the platform, how deployment experience shapes long-term outcomes, and what the playbook looks like to grow from a single foothold to a multi-module partner. You won't just be generating statistics; you'll be the architect of our expansion playbook, transforming raw data into the strategy we use to grow from a single-module foothold into a full-platform relationship. What You'll DoDevelop Holly's customer personas. You'll take our current customer personas and synthesize usage data, deployment history, and client feedback to develop these personas even more across our jurisdiction base - segmenting by role, size, geography and other factors.Translate those patterns into something actionable: a leading-indicator framework for client health. What signals - behavioral, operational, relational - predict renewal and expansion before they're obvious? This becomes the foundation for how our team prioritizes attention and how the product team thinks about stickiness.Build on Holly's multi-module strategy. As a stretch project: zoom out and think structurally about how Holly should sequence and package its modules to maximize platform adoption. This touches pricing logic, deployment ordering, and how we tell the platform story to clients who came in through a single use case.Who You AreA Strategic Thinker: You don't just analyze; you diagnose. You can take a messy dataset and turn it into a crisp, actionable recommendation.A Framework Builder: You are comfortable with ambiguity and know how to structure your way through it. You don't need a playbook-you're here to write one.A Clear Communicator: You can present nuanced analysis to non-technical audiences without losing the underlying substance.Analytically-Inclined: You like getting in the weeds of large datasets, and crafting the key metrics that are the most important to our work. What You'll GetReal Ownership: The work you do this summer will directly shape how Holly deploys, retains, and expands its client base. This is not a "shadow" role.Govtech Scaling Experience: A front-row seat to how a venture backed company builds the infrastructure for its next stage of growth.Product Stewardship: By digging into usage data, you will directly influence how we prioritize and build upcoming modules and features.Direct Impact: Your roadmaps and plans will ensure that the government HR professionals we serve our getting significant impact from our platform.High-Trust Environment: Join a small, high-output team where you will receive real work and real feedback.LogisticsLocation: Preference candidates who can join us in our New York City office for in-person collaboration!Duration: ~2 months, with flexibility on total hours.Start Date: June 2026Payment: Stipend available.
