Powder Coat Maintenance Technician
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the powder coat paint system, performing various equipment repairs and scheduled PMs. Sample, monitor, and operate the WWT (Wastewater Treatment) within the NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Troubleshoots powder paint and wastewater systems, notifying shift supervisor and/or manager of any issues.
Maintains and calibrates process control equipment related to powder paint and water treatment areas.
Monitor, sample, and adjust the wastewater treatment to stay in compliance with all state and federal discharge regulations. Serves as backup to other WWT operators.
Performs bath makeup charge, replenishment, and chemical titrations in powder paint.
Follow emergency action plan for chemical spill containment and clean up, follow SDS for material handling.
Collaborates with maintenance department to make repairs and perform preventative maintenance on powder paint, mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Uses testing equipment and necessary hand and power tools.
Accurately reads blueprints, schematics, micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and wiring diagrams in making repairs and adjustments. Troubleshoots problems and plans necessary repairs, keeping supervisor informed.
Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Follows proper procedures for Lockout/Tagout and wears required protective equipment.
Proficient in the use of computers and programs essential to the job.
Completes proper paperwork and inspection documentation. Keeps accurate record of labor on daily time card.
Coordinates repairs to minimize production downtime.
Creates requisitions for needed parts and supplies necessary to carry out repairs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
