Those services must be provided in a safe and clean environment. This position is one of a working supervisor who performs studies while managing the work load of the department. Multi-modality experience preferred (i.e. X-ray and CT, Ultrasound, MRI)Supervisor experience preferredManages Imaging department on weekends, coordinates staffing, department procedures, and physician requests in multiple modalities.POSITION REQUIREMENTSFormal Education / Training:Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology and subsequent Accreditation through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Must be in compliance with CE Requirements.BLS is required within 90 days of hire.Workplace Experience:Prefer three years of supervisory experience in a hospital that provides all imaging modalities.Equipment and Skills Training:Possesses general knowledge of x-ray equipment, other modalities, and computers. Will train on specific equipment and processes utilized at Williamson Health.Physical Environment:Radiation safety, MRI safety, and universal precautions practiced in a multi modality imaging department.Physical Effort:Possesses the ability to perform multifunctional tasks to include: physically manipulate and operate equipment, assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20 pounds; communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing; make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations; and demonstrate emotional stability and psychological health in day to day interaction with fellow employees, patients, their families, and physicians.PERFORMANCE STANDARDSChecks patient identification and physician order to ensure accuracy of request before proceeding with study.Questions female patients (ages 12-50) regarding the possibility of pregnancy and properly documents information in record.Provides proper radiation safety protection for all patients as well as self and other technologists. Follows ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY AND IMAGE WISELY.Communicates to the Director potential or existing problems/opportunities to improve quality of care or services.Strives to maintain the dignity of each patient by ensuring that all patients are properly covered at all times; during exam and patient transport.Checks often on patients waiting in hallways to ensure that the patient is covered and comfortable (Pain Management).Shows leadership and teamwork in difficult situations and makes appropriate decisions.Ensures the safety of patients by following all safety procedures while moving patients from wheelchair or stretcher to table and watching patient while on radiology table.Performs high quality studies consistently and encourages staff to do the same.Treats all employees equally and with respect and dignity.Strives to create an environment of excellence and efficiency regardless of whether studies are routine or STAT.Encourages and fosters an environment of teamwork.
