This role leads trade foremen, drives labor optimization across projects, maintains overall schedule health, and ensures consistent execution of safety, quality, and production standards.This individual serves as the primary field escalation point, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact project performance.Core ResponsibilitiesField Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead and manage trade superintendents across all active projectsSet expectations, conduct weekly performance check-ins, and develop field leadership talentEnforce accountability to field leadership standards and expanded authority expectationsProduction & Labor OptimizationDrive cross-project labor allocation and rebalancing based on schedule prioritiesMaximize labor utilization, minimize downtime, and improve mobilization efficiencyLead weekly production review meetings with all trade superintendentsSchedule & Project OversightMaintain a consolidated view of all project schedules across the portfolioIdentify at-risk projects daily and implement recovery plansEnsure projects stay on schedule and production goals are metField Operations ExcellenceOwn and enforce field standards for:SafetyQualityProduction planningGC/client communicationMonitor quality metrics and ensure superintendent-led quality programs are executed effectivelyEscalation & Issue ResolutionServe as the primary escalation point for field issuesTriage and resolve project risks before executive involvement is requiredPartner with Project Managers to resolve multi-trade conflicts and resource challengesSite PresenceConduct regular site visits across all active projects (target: bi-weekly per site)Ensure alignment between field execution and company standards QualificationsMinimum Requirements7+ years of experience in mechanical construction field leadership Proven experience managing multiple projects and field teams simultaneouslyStrong understanding of construction scheduling, labor planning, and production trackingDemonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop field leadersStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to operate at both strategic and tactical levelsPreferred QualificationsExperience overseeing mechanical construction projectsBackground in large-scale commercial or industrial constructionFamiliarity with project management and scheduling softwareBenefitsCompetitive wagesPaid overtimePaid holidaysPTOEmployer-paid Health insurance, dental insurance, and life insuranceTuition reimbursement401KCompany Team Bonus IncentiveExcel Services has been recognized as a leading design-build contractor with "multiple disciplines under one roof" serving commercial, industrial and institutional customers in the Greater Louisville / Southern Indiana market for several years now.
