Director Of MarketingAt Vertex Education we are a team of high achievers, courageous leaders, and passionate believers in changing lives through education. As a purpose-led education services provider, our mission is destined to benefit many and yet it starts with just one person inspired to work together with us to make a memorable and meaningful difference for our clients, schools, students, and communities. Be the one who makes a differencewith us.
As the Director of Marketing, you are a hands-on leader responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving a high-performance student acquisition engine for Legacy Traditional Schools. This is not a role for a distant strategist. You will own enrollment outcomes by setting clear performance expectations, rigorously reviewing data, and leading a disciplined cadence of testing and optimization in close partnership with our performance marketing agency. You will hold both an internal team and agency partners accountable for hitting quantifiable enrollment targets and maximizing marketing ROI. At the same time, you will own the operational backbone of the marketing function, ensuring strong project management, clear prioritization, and disciplined execution across all initiatives.
You will establish systems that move work from strategy to launch efficiently, actively manage timelines, budgets and dependencies, ensure marketing efforts remain aligned to enrollment priorities, and actively influence cross-functional processes that impact enrollment conversion. Success in this role means a well-led agency, a well-run marketing operation, and consistent, measurable progress toward filling seats and advancing our mission of changing lives through education.
Essential Functions:Performance Marketing & ROI Management:
Own student acquisition outcomes across all paid and organic channels by setting clear ROI, cost-per-inquiry, and cost-per-enrolled-student targets aligned to enrollment goals.
Lead and manage external performance marketing agencies and vendors, defining expectations, prioritizing optimization efforts, and holding partners accountable for results, spend efficiency, and delivery.
Manage marketing budget allocation and reallocation decisions using performance data, ensuring resources are continuously shifted toward the highest-impact channels and tactics.
Establish a disciplined performance and reporting cadence, ensuring accurate attribution, clear insight into funnel performance, and timely escalation when results fall short.
Data Analysis & Funnel Optimization:
Own end-to-end visibility and optimization of the student enrollment funnel, from first inquiry through enrollment, identifying friction points and directing actions to improve conversion and speed to enrollment.
Lead rigorous analysis of marketing and enrollment performance data, ensuring insights from CRM, analytics platforms, and internal systems are accurate, trusted, and used to drive decisions.
Translate data into clear priorities and directives for internal teams and agency partners, ensuring optimization efforts are focused on the highest-impact opportunities.
Deliver clear, concise performance insights to senior leadership, connecting funnel metrics to enrollment outcomes, budget decisions, and operational improvements.
High-Tempo Campaign Iteration:
Establish and enforce a structured, high-tempo testing framework across channels, ensuring continuous experimentation in creative, messaging, targeting, and offers to improve conversion performance.
Ensure learnings from all tests are captured, synthesized, and translated into clear playbooks that inform future campaign strategy, budget allocation, and creative standards.
Lead a regular optimization cadence, using performance reviews to drive decisions, course-correct underperforming approaches, and reinforce accountability for results.
Operational Team Leadership:
Own the marketing operating system by establishing clear project management processes, intake and prioritization frameworks, and execution standards that keep initiatives moving from strategy to launch on time and on target.
Set and enforce a disciplined planning and delivery cadence, ensuring priorities are clear, dependencies are actively managed, and teams are focused on the work that most directly impacts enrollment.
