*Job Overview* We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pipe Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating pipe systems on construction sites and within fabrication shops, ensuring all work meets rigorous safety standards and quality specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of complex piping projects, supporting infrastructure development across diverse industries. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced welders passionate about precision, safety, and craftsmanship to thrive in a fast-paced environment. *Responsibilities* * Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding requirements and procedures. * Perform pipe welding using various techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. * Measure and mark materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication and assembly of piping systems. * Prepare surfaces and materials through cutting, plasma cutting, machining, and sheet metal fabrication to meet project specifications. * Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to assemble, fit-up, and weld pipe sections in various positions on construction sites or within fabrication facilities. * Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including proper handling of metal materials, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe operation of cranes and other heavy machinery. * Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow, quality control, and timely project completion while maintaining a safe work environment. *Skills* * Extensive construction site experience with a solid understanding of construction processes and safety procedures. * Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting fabrication shop drawings. * Skilled in multiple welding techniques including FCAW, MIG welding, TIG welding, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. * Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision tools accurately. * Mechanical knowledge related to pipe fitting, ductwork installation, metal fabrication, machining, and assembly processes. * Experience with plasma cutting, sheet metal fabrication, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and shop math calculations. * Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, cranes, and other heavy machinery on construction sites or in fabrication shops. * Strong understanding of AWS standards for welding quality assurance; commitment to safety protocol adherence at all times. * Capable of interpreting technical drawings for manufacturing or construction projects involving metal materials or ductwork. * Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication tasks; experience with mechanical fabrication is a plus.
