Senior Vice President of Finance

OverviewResponsible for directing the financing strategies, analysis, forecasting and budget management, all aspects of accounting operations such as receivables, payables, payroll. and financial reporting. ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions:Assist in formulating the Sector's future direction and supporting tactical initiativesMonitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plansDevelop financial and tax strategiesManage capital requests and budgeting processesDevelop performance measures that support the Sector's strategic directionParticipate in key decisions as a member of the executive management teamParticipate in bid reviews and pricingParticipate in monthly project reviews and gain in-depth understanding of Sector jobs and risksMaintain in-depth relations with all members of the management teamProvide senior leadership to the finance and accounting department and their corresponding managers to achieve their overall goalsParticipate in the development of the Sector's plans and programs as a tactical partner in evaluating and advising on the impact of long-range planning and regulatory action on the areas of responsibilityDevelop credibility for the finance and accounting department by providing timely and accurate analyses of budgets and business trends in order to assist the other senior executives in performing their responsibilitiesEnhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the SectorManage the accounting departmentOversee the financial operations of Sector companies and foreign operationsManage any third parties to which functions have been outsourcedImplement operational best practicesSupervise or participate in acquisition due diligenceOversee the issuance of financial information and timely completion of periodic accounting and financial reportingOversee the Sector's transaction processing systemsEnsure SOX, Internal Controls and technical accounting standards are adhered to for all Sector companiesReport and discuss financial results to the Parent OrganizationExperience with revenue recognition on Construction contracts preferredUnderstand and mitigate key elements of the Sector's risk profileMonitor all open legal issues involving the Sector and legal issues affecting the industryMaintain appropriate insurance coverageEnsure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agenciesReport risk issues to executivesMaintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendationsQualificationsEducation and Work Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field15 years related experienceCPA or CA designationKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the Company's Zero Injury principlesRead, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulationsWrite reports, business correspondence and procedure manualsEffectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general publicCalculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volumeConcepts of basic algebra and geometryDefine problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusionsAbility to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variablesStrong ability to think strategicallyExcellent analytical skills and a data-driven mindsetProficiency in negotiations, operational management, and implementationExcellent presentation and interpersonal skillsStrong problem solving abilityExcellent organizational and leadership skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationKnowledge of financial management and strong ability to maintain and create budgetsKnowledge on project managementAbility to travel 50% of the timeWorking Environment:When visiting jobsites the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautionsThis work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noisesPhysical Demands:MasTec, Inc. is an EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY employer.
