Low Voltage Estimator

Department: Low Voltage / Structured Cabling Reports To: Operations Manager / Director of OperationsPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Estimator to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for structured cabling, security, access control, CCTV, audiovisual, wireless infrastructure, and other low-voltage systems. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of low-voltage construction, can interpret project drawings and specifications, and is comfortable working directly with customers, vendors, and project teams throughout the bidding process.Key ResponsibilitiesReview project plans, specifications, and bid documents.Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs for low-voltage systems.Develop accurate cost estimates for:Structured Cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, Fiber)Access Control SystemsCCTV / Video SurveillanceIntrusion Detection SystemsAudio Visual SystemsWireless InfrastructureNurse Call and Specialty SystemsSolicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.Prepare professional proposals and bid packages.Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and customer meetings as needed.Identify project risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities.Maintain estimating databases, labor units, and pricing standards.Collaborate with operations and project management teams during project turnover.Assist with change order pricing and budgeting throughout project execution.Track bid results and maintain estimating records.Qualifications3+ years of estimating experience within the low-voltage, structured cabling, security, or electrical industry.Strong understanding of commercial low-voltage systems and installation practices.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.Experience with takeoff and estimating software preferred.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.Experience working with general contractors, owners, and vendors.Preferred QualificationsRCDD certification or pursuit of certification.Experience with data center, healthcare, industrial, or large commercial projects.Knowledge of industry standards including BICSI, TIA/EIA, and NEC.Experience with Accubid, Bluebeam, Trimble, ConEst, or similar estimating software.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience.Bonus opportunities.Medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company match.Paid time off and holidays.Career advancement opportunities within a growing organization.
