CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER / ESTIMATOR (Entry Level)C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. is seeking to fill a Construction Engineer / Estimator (Entry Level) position for our Daytona Beach operations. As one of Florida's premier heavy civil contractors, C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc., provides the finest quality asphalt paving and highway construction projects throughout the state.The Construction Engineer / Estimator (Entry Level) will be responsible for performing the essential functions described below under the direct supervision of the Area Manager. This is a full-time position and on-the-job training will be provided.Essential Job Responsibilities:Review tender documents, plans and specificationsPerform detailed quantity take-offs using AGTEK and BluebeamSolicit and receive quotes from suppliers and subcontractorsAttend site visits and take field measurements as required for preparing quotationsResponsible for Contact Management (CRM) database entry and maintenanceReview all plans and specifications, permits, set of drawings, and owner requirements with EstimatorPrepare bid proposalPrepare drawing list (put documents in appropriate files)Process and distribute all R.F.I.s for estimating and job addendumsRespond to all subcontractor inquiries in relation to bidsPrepare subcontractor comparison sheets for evaluationPrepare estimate turnovers for project managersAssist estimator in generating scope of work for all tradesPrepare Owner / PM bid booksPrepare post-bid buyoutsPrepare call list and follow up for coverageDevelop and maintain positive client/subcontractor relationshipsEstimate projects using HCSS Heavy Bid softwareAssist field management with cost controls and change ordersOther duties as assignedCompetencies:Collaboration SkillsProactivityCommunicationProficiencyEthical ConductThoroughnessTime ManagementJob Requirements:4-year degree in Civil Engineering or Building Construction, or pursuing degreeMust be proficient in ExcelEmployer conducts drug screening and background checkFlorida driver's license required as estimators frequently travel to and from the officeWe offer competitive salaries and fringe benefits.EOE/AA, DFWP, We Honor Those Who Have Served.Position open until filled.Thank you for your interest in opportunities with CWR!
