Senior Project Engineer

You will work closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure successful execution of complex civil construction projects.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities.Prepare and review project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.Monitor project progress and provide technical support to field teams.Ensure compliance with safety standards, specifications, and quality requirements.Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve design and construction challenges.Track costs, quantities, and production to maintain project budgets.Support procurement of materials and subcontractor services.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.3+ years of experience in heavy civil construction projects (highways, bridges, utilities, etc.).Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and industry standards.Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6) and MS Office Suite.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.Preferred SkillsExperience with DOT projects and public infrastructure.Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance.Familiarity with estimating and cost control processes.Ames Construction is an equal opportunity employer.
