Payroll Department. The position supports centralized payroll operations within a Shared Services environment, delivering accurate, timely and compliant payroll services to multiple operating companies and legal entities. This role executes payroll activities, adheres to established service level agreements (SLAs), participates in payroll system testing, implementations and continuous process improvement initiatives. It is a hybrid role and requires regular in‐office presence at our Alpharetta, GA location.What Shared Services DoesA Shared Services Center (SSC) centralizes critical business processes, streamlining operations, reducing costs, and delivering consistent quality. By consolidating areas such as finance, procurement, payroll, and reporting, SSC eliminates duplication, frees time for strategic priorities, and fosters efficiency. SSC's primary functions include:O2C (Order-to-Cash): Manages the customer journey from order to payment, driving smoother revenue processes.R2R (Record-to-Report): Enables robust financial reporting and accounting.P2P (Procure-to-Pay): Ensures timely vendor payments and strong supplier relationships. Manages the Travel and Expense program.Center of Excellence: Drives innovation and continuous improvement.Payroll (Hire-to-Retire): Ensures accurate, compliant employee payments.Shared Services enables companies to focus on growth and strategic goals while maintaining operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for timely and accurate processing of complex hourly and salaried job-cost payrolls for assigned divisionsExecute regular and off cycle payroll processing for multiple operating companies/legal entities in a centralized payroll modelAnalysis and posting of payroll job-cost, general ledger, and labor detailSupport payroll reconciliations, variance analysis, post payroll audits and continuous improvement initiativesMeet defined SLAs, payroll calendars, and cut-off deadlines while supporting high- volume processingMaintain accurate payroll records across entities and ensure proper documentation and audit trailsComplete variance analysis of key payroll figures and data to proactively identify and correct system/processing errorsIdentify opportunities for process efficiencies, automation, and risk reduction within the shared service modelInterpretation and set up of wage attachments (garnishments, child support, tax levies)Respond to inquiries through a case management or ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when appropriateServe as primary point of communication to division Payroll and Human Resource contactsMaintain professional demeanor at all times while representing the companyRegular and predictable attendance at assigned times is requiredOther duties as directed by management.Perform other related duties as assigned.Education & QualificationsAssociate degree or high school graduate with commensurate experienceMinimum 2 years of multi-corporation, multi-state payroll processing or business environment experience requiredBasic knowledge of payroll principles, wage and hour law, payroll taxes, and wage attachmentsFPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) a plusPC literate: Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, and mainframe payroll application experienceMust be 18 years in age or olderPre-employment drug screen and background check required.Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee HandbookWillingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as requiredMust be able to able to work under time constraints and ensure deadlines are metAble to read and/or follow written and verbal instructions and implement the same.Ability to adapt to changing and process driven environment.Strong verbal and written communication skillsStrong organization skills with attention to detailStrong "customer service" focusAbility to analyze and resolve problemsAble to communicate with others by telephone and in person.Able to utilize a computer for word processing, email communication, and preparation of documents and presentations.May require sitting for extended periods of time.Work Environment* Usually, normal office working conditions.
