Data Scientist – High-Growth SaaS CompanyAbout the CompanyWe are a fast-growing B2B SaaS company ($9M+ ARR, growing 30–40% year-over-year) that is transforming a massive, fragmented industry through technology, data science, and automation. Our platform powers pricing optimization, auction mechanics, and automated negotiation for a multi-billion-dollar market. With a lean team of 17 full-time U.S. employees and a global support team, every person has an outsized impact. Our CEO is deeply technical and personally invested in the data science function.The OpportunityYou will be the second Data Scientist on the team, reporting directly to a sharp Lead DS who has been with the company for nearly five years. This is a high-visibility role where your models go straight into production and directly drive revenue. You will own machine learning systems that optimize pricing, improve auction lot configurations, and automate negotiation – real problems with measurable P&L impact.What You’ll DoBuild and improve production ML models for pricing optimization, lot grouping, and automated offer negotiationConduct rigorous ad-hoc analysis and deliver stakeholder-ready insights to leadership and external partnersDesign, run, and evaluate experiments to improve model performance during high-volatility market periodsWrite complex SQL end-to-end across a mature data warehousePartner with engineering and business stakeholders to define objectives, constraints, and evaluation frameworksContribute to the team’s growing exploration of LLM applications (roughly 50% traditional ML/analytics, with some LLM work)What We’re Looking For0–5 years of hands-on Data Science experience (not purely academic)Minimum of a BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline from a top-tier programDeep foundation in traditional ML: regressions, XGBoost, optimization, time-series – this is not an LLM-only roleStrong Python and SQL skills; comfort building data pipelines and writing production-quality codeExcellent communicator who can translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendationsIntellectually curious, analytically rigorous, and genuinely passionate about solving hard problems with dataA “do more with less” mindset – you thrive in lean, fast-moving environmentsBonus PointsExperience in pricing, auction mechanics, or marketplace optimizationExposure to e-commerce, supply chain, or logistics data problemsDemonstrated quantitative aptitude (high standardized test scores, math competition results, etc. are welcomed) Location: Charlotte, NC or NYC - 1-2 days a week on siteRequired Experience: 0-5 yearsCompensation: Up to $160K Base Salary (based upon experience) + Benefits & PerksPlease Note: You must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder to be eligible for this position We believe that no task is beneath anyone on this team.
