Under the guidance of the Vice President of Health Services will be responsible and accountable for the occupancy and operations of the continuum of licensed health services delivery for Broadmead, Inc. These health services include skilled nursing care, long term care, and assisted living.The Health Services Administrator will also be responsible and accountable for the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program within licensed care neighborhoods.The Health Services Administrator will be responsible for the appropriate management of incident reporting through the PEER system for licensed care neighborhood incidents.The Health Services Administrator will be responsible for the development and implementation of programs and services related to Above. Always, Broadmead policies and Maryland and Federal regulations are related to comprehensive care and assisted living, and all regulatory and licensing requirements required to operate all neighborhoods.Education and Experience:• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field• 5–10 years working in a CCRC environment, preferred• A current Maryland Nursing Home Administrator’s license• A current Maryland Assisted Living Manager Certificate.• A comprehensive knowledge of state and federal regulations for the operation of a nursing home and an assisted living facility• A strong understanding of CMS/Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement• A comprehensive knowledge of financial operations including, but not limited to, budgeting, staffing, and accounting• A comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, MOSHA, Corporate Compliance, HIPAA, COMAR and the standards as related to the operation of licensed care facilities in the State of Maryland• A comprehensive knowledge of supervisory, management and leadership practices and principles• A comprehensive background and certifications are preferred in caring for people with cognitive challenges.• A comprehensive knowledge of geriatric, social and health care methodology and terminology• A working knowledge of medical supplies and materials and related purchasing procedures• A working knowledge of conflict management• A working knowledge of customer service• A working knowledge of regulations regarding the purchasing, storage, and administration of drugs.Competencies:Regulations related to Comprehensive Care and Assisted Living in Maryland, Problem solving, technical skills, customer service, interpersonal skills, oral communication, written communication, teamwork, leadership, diversity support, organizational support, motivation, planning/organizing, professionalism, safety and security, adaptability, dependability, initiative, innovation.Language Skills:• Ability to read, analyze and interpret governmental regulations.• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from residents, families, colleagues, executive leadership, board members, and the public.Computer Skills:• Microsoft Office, Excel, Co-Pilot, and PowerPointHealth:Good physical and mental health, producing upon hire, and as required thereafter, a satisfactory exam from a clinician and a satisfactory QuantiFERON test or chest X-rayPersonal Behaviors:1. Lead by exampleJob Description:Essential Duties:The Health Services Administrator provides leadership and coaching for direct reports and team members within these departments. The Health Services Administrator will support the recruitment, retention, and development of a competent and highly effective health services team.Specific duties include:• Establish and maintain a person-centered culture that respects the independence, choice and dignity of each resident or patient.• Utilize a strong resident-focused philosophy, a respectful and collaborative working style, techniques of “active listening,” and a commitment to excellence in service delivery.• Ensure occupancy of licensed care meets the financial objectives and goals of the organizations.• Lead the development of health services policies and procedures for licensed care neighborhoods.• Review and approve all New Hire Requisitions for reporting departments.• Review daily healthcare related PEER events and ensure accurate and appropriate documentation of incidents. Document on all severity level 3 and higher events within licensed care neighborhoods within three (3) days.• Chair the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee for all neighborhoods and promote individualized, compassionate discussions and activities related to Quality of Care and CMS Quality Measures.• Responsible for ensuring compliance as it relates to quality assurance/ performance improvement, state and federal regulations for skilled nursing and assisted living.• Participate in the Broadmead Board of Trustees’ Healthcare Quality, Compliance and Risk Committee as needed.• Provide colleagues with support as it relates to the activities of the Broadmead Residents’ Association’s Health Care Committee.• Regular environmental and regulatory compliance rounds of the licensed care areas.
