Job DescriptionHarrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel Position DescriptionPOSITION TITLE: Preventive Maintenance TechnicianDEPARTMENT: EngineeringGRADE/FLSA STATUS: H11 - Non-ExemptBADGE TYPE/COLOR: Key--BlueREPORTS TO: Engineering SupervisorSUPERVISES: N/AJOB SUMMARY:Perform basic routine maintenance on a variety of HVAC and electrical equipment including; air handlers, energy recovery wheels, fan coils, heat pumps, chillers, cooling towers and boilers. Provide support in the department as directed by department management.JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Establish and endorse the business objectives, ethics and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and ValuesFollow manufacturer's preventive maintenance schedules which include: changing filters, washing condenser/evaporator coils, checking pressures/temperatures, punching tubes, changing belts, etc.Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systemsUtilize building automation and work order systemMaintain records of maintenance and repair using computerized maintenance programsAbide by safety policies and report safety hazards to department managementParticipative member of the team by volunteering and being involved in projects, committees, and task forces by providing input and suggestionsRespond to emergency and critical situationsAdhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical mannerMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED requiredAssociates Degree (HVAC) or trade diploma in a technical field from an accredited educational institution preferred or one year of general maintenance experience performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs in a commercial, industrial or institutional facility requiredValid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record requiredMust demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:Ability to read and understand simple blueprints and diagramsAbility to use technical manuals to understand equipment operation and maintenanceBasic understanding of chilled and hot water systemsBasic understanding of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)Basic understanding of pumps, motors, and compressed air systemsNeat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygieneAbility to work independentlyDocumented teamwork behaviors and attitudesØ Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsExcellent technical skillsAbility to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip itemsMust possess coordination and dexterity to work with hand and power toolsMust be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbsMust be able to respond to visual and aural cuesMust be able to move in all areas of the casinoMust be able to read, write, speak and understand EnglishMust be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situationsMust be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including second hand smokeMust be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidaysThis is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, requirements, or working conditions associated with the job.
