Senior Data Automation Analyst
Job Title: Senior Data & Automation Analyst (Excel/VBA, Power BI)Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite) Duration: Contract through end of 2026 (potential for extension)OverviewWe are seeking a highly technical Senior Data & Automation Analyst to support a large-scale operations organization within a Fortune 100 financial services environment. This role sits at the intersection of data, reporting, and process automation, helping transform complex, manual reporting into scalable and efficient solutions.This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in unstructured data environments, enjoys building from the ground up, and has deep expertise in Excel, VBA, and data transformation.Key ResponsibilitiesData Aggregation & Transformation Consolidate and normalize data from multiple sources (50+ files, varying formats and granularity) Clean, standardize, and prepare datasets for reporting and analysis Reporting & Analytics Develop and maintain reporting across key areas such as: Operational capacity and workload analysis Unit costing and efficiency metrics (STP, exception rates) Risk and performance metrics Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for leadership Automation & Process Improvement Enhance and automate existing Excel-based processes using VBA and/or Python Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy Partner with technology teams to transition solutions into scalable platforms Data Strategy & Visualization Support migration of reporting from Excel into tools such as Power BI Assist in building dashboards and improving data accessibility for stakeholders Technical Collaboration Work closely with business and technology teams to define requirements Develop functional specifications for data solutions and reporting needs Required QualificationsAdvanced expertise in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, large datasets, modeling) Strong experience with VBA (including writing custom functions, loops, and automation scripts) Experience working with SQL and relational databases (querying, data extraction, transformations) Proven ability to work with large and unstructured datasets Experience building or enhancing automated reporting solutions Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred QualificationsExperience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools Familiarity with Python for automation or data processing Background in financial services, operations, or large enterprise environments Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions What We’re Looking ForA true data problem-solver who enjoys digging into complexity Someone who can quickly understand and improve existing processes A self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and efficiency Additional DetailsHybrid schedule (3 days onsite per week) High-impact role supporting critical operational reporting and transformation initiatives Opportunity to contribute to longer-term data and automation strategy
