Business Data Analyst

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Business Data Analyst for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.The Business Data Analyst will support enterprise Risk Data Services (RDS) by enabling compliant, accurate, and well-governed data onboarding and data control processes. This role serves as a key liaison between business, technology, and data teams, focusing on data lifecycle oversight, risk and regulatory awareness, metadata onboarding, and data quality controls, rather than deep database administration or complex software development.Responsibilities:Support Risk Data Services (RDS) solutions, including onboarding of new data sources, metadata, and tenantsPartner with internal stakeholders to intake, refine, and validate onboarding requests, ensuring alignment before data moves through feeds and pipelinesExecute and monitor data control framework activities, primarily focused on customer-level Level 1–2 data controlsPerform root cause analysis for data issues and collaborate on remediationValidate that data is processed according to defined rules, standards, and governance requirementsWork closely with metadata and data simulation teams to ensure requested data is correctly processed and aligned with source-to-target definitionsServe as a translator between business and technology teamsDevelop and maintain basic reporting and dashboards using Power BI and support internal workflow enhancements using Power AppsIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and innovationRequirements:4 years of Software Engineering experience, or 5 years of relevant experience in data analysis, data operations, risk data, or a related roleStrong understanding of data structures, data flows, risk management concepts, and data governance frameworksProven experience working in environments with high accountability and ownershipExperience supporting or partnering with technology teams and data platformsAbility to read, write, and validate SQL queries of moderate complexityExperience with Power BI for dashboard creation and data visualizationExperience supporting lightweight internal workflow applications with Power AppsAdvanced Excel skills for analysis, reconciliation, and data validationStrong root cause analysis, problem-solving, and communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailDesired skills:Financial services industry experienceExperience in regulated environments (risk, compliance, data governance)Understanding of regulatory and risk-driven data controlsFamiliarity with metadata management, data onboarding, or data quality toolsAwareness of AI or Copilot-based solutions for process improvementPay range: $43.59 - $51.59 per hourOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!Ranked a Top Staffing Firm in the U.S. by Staffing Industry Analysts for six consecutive years, Genesis10 puts thousands of consultants and employees to work across the United States every year in contract, contract-for-hire, and permanent placement roles.
