It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.SummaryThis individual will work directly with internal and external design teams, contractors, platform delivery, and operations departments to ensure the technical integrity, performance, and consistency of structural systems across Aligned’s data center platform.This role serves as both a structural engineering authority and a platform leader, responsible for ensuring structural solutions are not only technically sound, but also repeatable, constructible, and scalable across projects.A successful Structural Engineer with Aligned will combine deep technical expertise with a systems-level mindset, driving design standardization, prefabrication strategies, and continuous improvement of the structural platform while supporting project execution and delivery.Duties And ResponsibilitiesDesign Lead and maintain responsibility for structural engineering standards, details, and updates across the platform Review and drive updates to the Design Execution Criteria (DEC) for structural systems including compliance with code & customer requirements, innovation, and inclusion of lessons learned Ensure quality control of structural design deliverables through the full design phase Lead development of standardized and repeatable structural systems aligned with platform objectives Integrate structural systems into prefabricated and modular delivery strategies Support conceptual design, site evaluations, and real estate acquisition decisions Provide technical support for expansions, retrofits, and upgrades Execution Oversee Structural design coordination across disciplines to ensure seamless integration with architectural, structural, and MEP systems Serve as the technical authority for structural design decisions Validate structural readiness for construction, equipment loading, and service Lead structural troubleshooting and performance investigations Revenue Evaluate and approve deviations from standard designs based on client requirements. Lead technical assessments of potential acquisitions and existing assets. Forward Vision Drive transition toward a platform-based, manufactured structural delivery model Lead implementation of prefabricated and modular structural systems Align structural systems with supply chain and fabrication strategies Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and sustainable practices in Civil engineering. Lead or support the evaluation and implementation of innovative design and construction methodologies. Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to align Civil engineering solutions with evolving technical needs Troubleshoot and resolve site performance issues related to structural discipline Strongly Desired Working experience & knowledge of: Project Management Software (MS Projects, Procore, BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar). Structural design software including Revit, Bluebeam, Autocad. Knowledge and experience working with Bluebeam, Autocad, & Revit a plus Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering PE license required; SE preferred 8+ years experience in structural design or project management, with a strong preference for experience in data centers. Strong understanding of data center design and construction processes Advanced experience in Excel and AutoCAD. Exposure to or interest in leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve design/enginering efficiency, quality, and decision-making across workflows Strong written and verbal communication skills. International Experience a plus. Deep understanding of the Data Center design and construction process. Ability to multi-task, with strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality. Team Player across the organization. Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications. May travel at times up to 25%. Ability to understand construction project scopes.
