Join us.The Injection Molding Technician is responsible for all aspects of the injection molding process, including setup, processing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of production and sample molds. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to support process development while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform complete mold setup and teardown, including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for production and sample moldsInstall, remove, and replace waterlines; perform routine water filter cleaningConduct proper line clearance, moisture analysis, and tolerance monitoring to ensure process integrityMaintain press cleanliness, including platen cleaning, preventive maintenance (PM), and housekeeping before, during, and after tasksManage work orders, raw materials, and advanced mold lubrication (leader pins, side locks, cams, slides)Execute Advanced Scientific Injection Molding (SIM) techniques to support Processing Engineering in process developmentPerform advanced troubleshooting of machines, tooling functionality, and Mold Process Control (MPC), including controlled out-of-tolerance evaluationsConduct mold evaluations following critical tool repairsLoad and adjust automation programs as neededExecute DOE, IQ, OQ, PQ, and confirmation runsPerform press start-up, restart, and shutdown proceduresIdentify process and material issues, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actionsEnsure compliance with company and industry standards to maintain a safe and efficient manufacturing environmentTrain and mentor new and less experienced techniciansPerform additional duties as assignedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesMay provide direction to department employees in alignment with company policies and applicable lawsResponsibilities may include training, assigning work, monitoring performance, addressing concerns, and resolving issuesIn the absence of formal supervisory responsibility, provides technical guidance and on-the-job trainingQualificationsTo perform this role successfully, the individual must be able to execute all essential functions effectively. Reasonable accommodations may be provided as required.Education & ExperienceMinimum of five (5) years of experience in injection mold setup, processing, and removalTwo (2) years of technical college education or equivalent preferredFormal SIM training from accredited institutions strongly preferredCAD experience is a plusTechnical Skills & KnowledgeStrong knowledge of injection molding machines, processes, and industry terminologyAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentationExperience with eDART or similar process monitoring systemsProficiency with hand tools and precision measuring instrumentsAdvanced understanding of plastic materials and processing techniquesStrong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and OutlookEffective verbal and written communication skillsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands listed are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
