We are offering a Sign-On bonus for Special Education Teachers:Licensed Special Education Teacher – $5,000 Sign-On Bonus ($1,000 after successful completion of orientation; $2,000 after 120 days; $2,000 after 180 days)Non-Licensed Special Education Teacher – $2,500 Sign-On Bonus ($500 after successful completion of orientation; $1,000 after 120 days; $1,000 after 180 days)At Latham Centers, we’re committed to setting our teachers up for success, whether you’re experienced or just beginning to explore the field of special education. Our classrooms are intentionally designed, with approximately seven students supported by one teacher and one aide, allowing for meaningful, individualized instruction.We offer flexibility that’s rare in traditional school settings, including five weeks (6 weeks your second year) of PTO you can use when it works best for you. If you’re not yet licensed, we’ll support you by covering MTEL costs and guiding you through the licensure process.As a residential campus, teachers can focus primarily on student growth within the school environment, with less day-to-day parent coordination. You’ll also have access to ongoing professional development to keep building your skills.Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PMLocation: Brewster, MACompensation: $54,000 – $70,000 annually, depending on certification and experienceSee what it's like to be a Special Education Teacher at Latham Centers!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oTmLIGaMvsKey Responsibilities:Develop classroom schedules and implement daily academic lesson planPlan activities for school vacations and summer school recreational programmingAssist in writing and implementing school curriculumWrite and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)Design and implement pre-vocational and vocational curriculum within the daily scheduleUnderstand and implement the school behavior management programDesign and implement individualized and group behavior management plansParticipate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and supervisionMaintain knowledge of MCAS testing requirements, including accommodations and alternative assessment portfoliosGather MCAS documentation and create portfolios for spring submissionTrack student progress, complete semi-annual report cards, and prepare annual student transcriptsComplete weekly, quarterly, and annual reportsMaintain and organize classroom supplies and equipmentPerform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including occasional emergency responsibilities related to the roleRequirements:Must exhibit ambulatory ability sufficient to physically intervene in instances of extreme behavior that might jeopardize the safety of students and staffBasic computer skillsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredBachelor’s degree in special education, education, or a related field requiredBenefits:Generous 5 weeks of Paid Time OffTop-notch health plans (with Latham covering the first 75% of the deductible through an HRA)Tuition reimbursement for continuous learningChildcare reimbursement403(b) Retirement fund match to secure your future (up to 5%!)Latham may provide housing based on availabilityLatham Centers, Inc.
