Experience: • 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months. • Must have at least 18 months of Medical Surgical Float Pool experience. • Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months. • Trauma Level 2 experience is required from any number of months Requirements: • Candidates must have a Alabama license or compact license (required after submission). • Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted. • 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB and no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB. Wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV skills, medication administration/documentation and escalations 5 South Neuroscience Beds: 33 Patient Types: CVA, TBI, Seizure, AMS, Spinal Fusion, Craniotomy, Degenerative Diseases, post trauma, angiogram Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 Skills required: IV start, blood draws from central lines, trach care, PEG, NGT, Colostomy/Ostomy, Wound Care, Chest tube, Surgical Site Care, C-Collar, Abdominal Binders, Restraints 5 North MedSurg/Oncology: chemo experience high preferred Beds: 39 Patient Types: All patient types except stroke and MI, palliative care, ETOH withdrawal. MS/Oncology patients 1:6 for RN and LPNs Skills required: Trach care, chest tubes, PEG tubes, wound care, drains, foleys, IV starts; Chemo administration, if certified. Tele monitoring on hallway monitors and by tele techs on ground floor 4 South Clinical Decision Unit Beds: 18 Patient Types: General MedSurg COPD, CHF, Diabetes, MRSA, VRE, C-Diff, COVID, Pneumonia, Renal Failure, Sepsis, UTI, End of Life Comfort Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 Skills required: Assessment, prioritization, communication and documentation skills. Tracheotomy care, Suctioning, O2 Therapy, ostomy care, Foley care, External catheter care, PEG/NGT care and use, wound care, chest tube, central line care, pressure ulcer management/preventive measures, falls prevention management, restraints. 3 South Orthopedics Beds: 20 Patient Types: Orthopedic and spine: Joint replacements, fractures, fusions, laminectomies, etc. Patient Ratios: 1:5; 1:6 if medsurg Skills required: PCA pumps, wound care (negative pressure dressing), dressing changes, foley, drains (hemovacs/JP drains) 3 North MS/Ortho/Urology Beds: 23 Patient Types: Urology, ENT, ortho, MedSurg Patient Ratios: 1-5:6 Skills Required: Trach, wound care, wound vacs, IV starts, CVL dressing changes, follow nurse-driven foley protocol. 7 days maximum time off.
