Manager, Consulting (Project & Change Management Focus) for Boutique, NYC-Based Management Consulting FirmOverviewThis role sits at the Manager level within a consulting environment focused on helping organizations translate strategy into execution. Managers lead client engagements end-to-end, oversee delivery across multiple workstreams, and ensure high-quality outcomes through strong project management, stakeholder alignment, and team leadership. The role balances hands-on execution with people development and close partnership with senior leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Engagement & Project ManagementLead day-to-day execution of client engagements, owning project plans, timelines, deliverables, and communication cadencesPartner with senior team members to define project scope, success metrics, and milestones, translating strategy into actionable workplansManage multiple concurrent workstreams, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and course correctionsCoordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, accountability, and on-time deliveryPrepare for and facilitate client meetings and working sessions that drive decision-making and momentumEnsure consistent, high-quality outputs while adapting plans in ambiguous or evolving environmentsSupport the development of client capabilities throughout the engagementPeople Leadership & Internal ContributionServe as a Career Manager, coaching and supporting the growth of team members across levelsProvide active mentorship, modeling strong judgment, executive presence, and delivery disciplineContribute to internal initiatives related to operations, process improvement, or intellectual property developmentSupport business development efforts through proposal development, client storytelling, and pitch participation as neededRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferredDemonstrated experience managing complex projects and multiple workstreams simultaneouslyStrong analytical and structured thinking skills; ability to distill complexity into clear plans and actionsProven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high-stakes environmentsExperience working with senior stakeholders and navigating sensitive organizational dynamicsExcellent written and verbal communication skills; able to influence and align diverse stakeholdersHigh attention to detail, responsiveness, and follow-throughFlexibility to meet project demands, including occasional extended hoursWillingness to travel up to ~30%Ideal ProfilePragmatic, curious problem-solver with a strong execution mindsetTakes ownership and accountability for outcomes, not just recommendationsEnergized by complex, people-centric business challengesGrowth-oriented, reflective, and receptive to feedbackInvests in relationships and team developmentLeads with humility, integrity, and a strong sense of urgency
