Continuing Education Specialist **POSITION DETAILS** Reporting to the Executive Director, Continuing Education Specialist oversees tuition-based, partnership, and grant-funded Health and Allied Services programs as well as other programs within the Professional Development (PD) sector in Continuing Education. Responsibilities include ensuring program compliance with certification standards, verifying instructor qualifications, and monitoring student outcomes. The position coordinates internships, reviews student documentation, maintains certification records, develops course schedules, manages program supplies, and assists with instructor recruitment. The Program Specialist also liaises with industry partners, supports new program development, and participates in outreach and recruitment activities. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, additional duties include: Oversees tuition-based, vendor-supported, partnership, and grant-funded programs in the field of Health and Allied Services and other programs within the Professional Development sector Ensures that all Health and Allied Services/PD programs comply with state and national certification requirements; verifies instructor qualifications; and monitors students' exam pass rates. Assists students with internship and externship placements; reviews and approves student documentation, including medical clearances; and enters student information into institutional portals. Monitors student progress in multi-course programs to ensure all pre- and co-requisites are satisfied. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of student certifications and credentialing progress. Develops semester course schedules, coordinates with instructors, and prepares course descriptions. Compiles, analyzes, and submits reports, including data collection and entry. Participates in the recruitment and selection of Health and Allied Services/PD instructors and staff. Manages inventory and ordering of program supplies. Collaborates with academic departments and serves as a liaison to external partners, including long-term care facilities and hospitals. Distributes, reviews and reports on course evaluations. Contributes to the development, implementation, and coordination of new programs of study. Supports community outreach and student recruitment initiatives in collaboration with program directors and coordinators. Completes special projects and other assignments as directed. Ability to be present some evenings and weekends. Work hours will be scheduled as part of the full-time workload. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in Healthcare and Higher Education programs. Experience with program compliance, internship coordination, and reporting. Experience in program coordination (e.g. scheduling, monitoring students, recruitment and liaison to industry partners). Experience developing and coordinating new programs of study. Working knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office applications (specifically Word, Excel and Outlook) Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a collaborative and solution-oriented workstyle. Experience working with diverse populations. **CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW** Administers Continuing Education and related external programs, assisting with program design, marketing, operations, and evaluation. - Assists in developing programs and courses, analyzing course data and identifying opportunities for new and expanded course offerings - Develops related marketing strategies, policies, and procedures and disseminates them to students, teachers, and administrators. - Supervises operations such as registrar, bursar, data collection, and payment functions - Designs outreach materials, web sites, catalogues, and other marketing vehicles; conducts marketing events - Assists in the hiring and administration of program coordinators and instructors. - Assists in collecting and analyzing course evaluation and customer retention data. - Performs related duties as assigned.
