Shive-Hattery's West Des Moines IA office has an immediate opening for a BIM Technology Specialist - Structural/Architectural. In this role, you will : Work with Autodesk REVIT to create models and drawings that document the structural design of buildings and industrial-related structures Produce construction drawings at each stage of the design and documentation process, working closely with engineering staff for feedback and quality control Maintain master models for client campuses Work in a team setting with other structural team members and disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, architectural, and civil Assist in the coordination of structural design with team members of other disciplines Assist in field investigations of existing facilities and collect 3D laser scans to get accurate data Assist with certain structural design tasks under the guidance of a structural engineer Grow your knowledge of building construction methods, structural systems, details, coordination, and drawing production so that you can more fully participate in the design process beyond drafting markups Why Shive Hattery? Requirements
Education: Associate degree in CAD Technology Experience: this is an entry-level position for a self-motivated technology power user License/Certification: None required Software: Autodesk REVIT and AutoCAD - Structural focus preferred, but not required. General computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Preferred Qualifications: Able to collaborate with other team members and have good interpersonal skills Excellent attention to detail Motivated and willing to learn new skills Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing Effectively handle multiple projects and multiple deadlines including planning, organizing, and prioritizing work Able to work occasional overtime hours Ability to drive and have access to vehicle Ability to climb ladders and work on elevated platforms and open grating Ability to wear personal protective equipment required for specific clients and sites Ability to pass drug screening tests and background screening, which are both required for some client sites
