Product Procurement Specialist The Product Procurement Specialist supports the Purchasing Department within a capital equipment manufacturing environment by managing the procurement of engineered components and services. This role ensures alignment with project cost, quality, and delivery objectives while maintaining compliance with applicable technical codes and specifications. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to coordinate supplier activities and resolve issues impacting project performance. Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and relevant industry codes. Manage project cost and delivery targets through effective supplier coordination and integration of material data into earned value tracking. Source and evaluate suppliers; obtain quotations and technical documentation; issue purchase orders with consideration for cost, quality, safety, and schedule. Maintain manufacturing orders, production schedules, and shortage reports to support operational requirements. Monitor supplier performance, including quality and on-time delivery; address lead-time delays and missed shipments. Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including corrective and preventive actions, returns, rework, and back charges. Lead supplier negotiations, cost-reduction initiatives, and the development of Preferred Supplier Agreements. Qualify new suppliers and support contract development and administration. Identify and implement process improvements and technical solutions to mitigate project and supply chain risks. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, or 7+ years of relevant technical experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in capital equipment manufacturing. Proficiency interpreting technical drawings; familiarity with ASME, PED, and related industry codes. Strong ERP experience; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Project, and other Windows-based applications (SAP experience a plus). Demonstrated negotiation skills and experience presenting to executive leadership. Highly organized with the ability to manage complex projects alongside daily operational responsibilities. Proactive problem-solver with strong analytical and communication skills.
