As a Designer in Government Engineering Solutions, you'll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide. Note: US Citizenship Required As a Designer, a typical day might include the following:Create detailed physical and electrical designs and support job estimates under the supervision of a technical leadPrepare CAD drawings and other project documentationProvide design engineering support to project technical leadsComplete assigned work and submit within timelines and budgets with a high level of qualityDevelop and maintain an acceptable level of expertise in SEL and industry design practicesAssist and mentor drafters with technical tasksDevelop and maintain an acceptable level of knowledge of SEL equipment and solutions for electric power system protection and automationUse best available processes and tools and provide feedback on process enhancementsThis job might be for you if you have:Associates degree in EET, CAD, Drafting, or relevant discipline; or possess equivalent experience for each academic yearAbility to learn concepts and technical details of productsAbility to work with a moderate level of technical supervision, accepting ownership of assigned responsibilitiesDemonstrated competency in CAD drafting (AUTOCAD)Acceptable understanding of the installation requirements for protective relays of different type and functionWilling to travel as neededUS Citizenship statusStrong writing, documentation, and speaking skillsAbility to learn new skills and assume new responsibilitiesAbility to work cooperatively in a team environmentPreferred QualificationsThree plus years of relevant experience with high voltage electrical design, including several projects in protective relay controls systemsPossess a BSEE, BSET or related design degree from an accredited college or universityExperience testing and commissioning protective relay, process control and SCADA control systemsElectrical utility, consulting or system integrator experienceApplication knowledge of protective relay applications and/or automation applicationsLocationPullman, WA SEL corporate office is located in Eastern Washington where you'll enjoy an unmatched quality of life. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
