This includes working with product owners to help define and specify products; researching, prototyping and evaluating circuit design concepts; collaborating with RTL, firmware, software, power, and automation peers to develop system architectures; designing a wide variety of board-level analog, digital and power electronic circuits; designing PCBs using industry-leading schematic capture, simulation, and layout tools; and testing hardware platforms to ensure they meet all functional and quality requirements. You will have access to SEL's fully equipped R&D prototyping lab, stocked with all of the oscilloscopes, meters, power supplies, soldering stations, and specialized test equipment you'll need to test and troubleshoot your designs. SEL's test lab also includes an on-site 10-meter RF chamber for emissions compliance testing, dozens of thermal chambers for evaluating thermal performance and three vibration tables used to test the mechanical integrity of our products.Hardware engineers at SEL get to experience a variety of HW engineering tasks and are empowered to own the quality and success of their designs from inception through production. We look forward to hearing from you!Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign, analyze, simulate, and develop analog and digital circuitsConduct hardware design reviews to demonstrate circuit robustness and adherence to specifications under all operating conditionsDevelop hardware specifications and assist in the preparation and review of system/product-level specificationsWrite test plans, execute tests, document test results, and ensure circuit-level and product-level performance requirements are satisfiedPrepare and maintain development documentation, including design concepts, detailed design and test documentation, product overview presentations and project notebooksDevelop knowledge of SEL R&D processesProvide and maintain accurate project plans and hardware cost estimatesLead hardware projects of limited to moderate complexityMentor and direct the efforts of associate engineers and techniciansCoordinate hardware engineering activities with purchasing, manufacturing, and other engineering disciplinesModel and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing PrinciplesApply SEL’s Quality Policy: Understand.
