Position SummaryResponsible for designing, implementing, and facilitating social, cultural, recreational, and academic activities for children and their families in shelter using the Trauma Informed Care model.Job DescriptionRequired Education, Experience and QualificationsDegree in social work, education, or related field preferred or one year experience working with youth.Experience with trauma-informed care and curriculum development preferred.Maintain valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations).Role and ResponsibilitiesProvide advocacy, crisis intervention, referrals, safety planning, and follow-ups for caregivers and children.Conduct intakes to assess family needs, develop safety plans, and promote healthy parenting techniques.Collaborate with caregivers' case managers and community agencies to coordinate services.Support families through transportation arrangements, school enrollment assistance, and shelter operations.Facilitate caregiver/child groups and organize events such as birthday parties and baby showers.Plan and lead activities for children and families while providing child monitoring during meetings.Maintain documentation and prepare monthly reports per policy.Represent the agency in community activities.Always adheres to Service Excellence standards.Complies with agency policies and procedures, federal and state requirements, CARF standards, and educational/certification/registry requirements.Performs other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable for the position) - N/APhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
