JOB TITLE: ISP Technician – Level 1
POSITION LOCATION: Salem, OR– With travel up to 50% of the time
POSITION PAY: $19-$22/hour DOE
POSITION HOURS: 10 - hour days, 4 days a week and availability to work overtime.

SUMMARY:
The Inside Plant Technician Level 1 is an entry-level position that contributes to the team primarily by assisting in installing equipment, pulling, connectorizing, and terminating coax cables in the workplace according to instructions provided by the Team Lead. Level 1 Technicians are responsible for acquiring skills and knowledge as they relate to the cable and telecommunications field. This is accomplished by showing initiative in learning more skills, collaborating with team members, and exhibiting dependability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Become familiar with and assist with basic installation in both fiber and coax networks.
Gain an understanding of and be able to assist with the various types of installation, cabling, dress in, test and label. I.E. Fiber jumpers, coax, CAT6 etc.
Learn fiber optic cable basics and installation best practices.
Learn how cable signal works and the importance of proper installation.
Assist with installation of internal rack DC power wiring.
Finish projects despite obstacles with little supervision.
Display active listening skills.
Manipulate connectors, fasteners, wire and hand tools.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
Use sound judgement and decision making to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required travel in the Pacific Northwest up to 50% of the time.
