Orthopedic Surgeon Joint Replacement (MD/DO) Position Summary The Orthopedic Joint Replacement Surgeon provides comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for patients with degenerative and traumatic conditions affecting the hip, knee, and other major joints. This role focuses on primary and revision joint arthroplasty, perioperative management, and long-term functional outcomes, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.Must be legally licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and/or Minnesota, depending on the location of the practice to which you are assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate and manage patients with degenerative joint disease, arthritis, and joint-related musculoskeletal conditionsPerform primary and revision joint replacement procedures, including hip and knee arthroplasty, consistent with training and privilegesUtilize minimally invasive, robotic-assisted, or advanced surgical techniques as appropriateProvide non-operative management including injections, physical therapy planning, and medical optimizationManage perioperative and postoperative care, including complications and recovery planningParticipate in emergency and on-call orthopedic coverage as requiredInterpret diagnostic studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and other imagingCollaborate with anesthesiology, hospitalists, physical therapy, nursing, and case management teamsEducate patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical risks, and expected outcomesMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentationParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiativesSupervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, or trainees as applicableComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited orthopedic surgery residency programFellowship training in adult reconstruction or joint replacement surgeryBoard-eligible or board-certified in Orthopedic SurgeryAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensureDEA registration or eligibility Skills and Competencies Expertise in primary and revision joint arthroplastyStrong clinical judgment and advanced surgical skillsAbility to manage complex orthopedic cases and comorbid patientsExcellent communication and patient counseling abilitiesCommitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and patient safety Work Environment Hospital operating rooms, outpatient clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and inpatient unitsCall coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays as required Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical proceduresManual dexterity and physical stamina for operative casesVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for operative and clinical care
