CNC Lathe Tech/Programmer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Technician/Programmer to join our automotive manufacturing team. This role is responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machining equipment to produce high-quality components that meet strict automotive specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and experienced with CAD/CAM systems and G-code programming.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, edit, and optimize CNC lathe programsSet up CNC lathes, and other machining centers—including tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets.Validate new programs through dry runs and first-article inspections.Continuously improve programs to reduce cycle time and enhance tool life.Operate CNC equipment to produce precision automotive components according to production schedules.Interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and technical specifications.Monitor machining operations to ensure consistent quality and dimensional accuracy.Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, or other metrology tools.QualificationsRequired3+ years of CNC machining experience in a production environment.Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code) and CAM systems (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, Esprit).Experience with CNC lathes.Understanding of tooling, feeds/speeds, materials (steel, aluminum, castings, etc.).PreferredAutomotive or high-precision manufacturing experience.Familiarity with IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 standards.
