Machine Commissioning Engineer
Job Description
Job Summary: Machine Production and CommissioningResponsible for the electrical hookup, initial setup, testing, commissioning, repair and adjustment of CNC equipment both in-house and on site. Modification of programming software as well as post manipulation.Summary Of Essential Job Duties:Review and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals and specifications.Complete and label final electrical assembly. Connect power cables, encoder cables, low voltage, I/O.Tooling and aggregate setups.Understand, calculate, and set controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed and enter commands. Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machine and adjusts controls as required.Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, CMM, and drop gauges.Confers with engineers, production personnel, or others to resolve issues.Comply with company requirements in completing essential documentation as required.Ensure all policies and procedures are followed and safety precautions are taken to reduce the risk of injury.Perform and document Preventative Maintenance operations as needed.Abilities Required:CNC programming experience with ability to edit programs.Electrical assembly experience.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Excellent critical thinking skills.Handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Knowledge of G code programming.CAD/CAM skills.General tooling knowledge of various materials including Steel, wood, fiberglass, composites and aluminum.Basic Electrical and mechanical understanding.Language Skills:Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Able to communicate effectively with team members and customers.Mathematical Skills:Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts including addition, subtraction, multiplication, geometry and fractionsEducational Requirements:High School Graduate or equivalent.1-3 years CNC programming/machining experience. Machining education may be included as experience.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, handle, feel, grasp, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch: and talk and hear.Requires good hand-eye coordination, and finger dexterity.The job may involve prolonged periods of standing.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.Work Environment:May involve the use of oils and solvents.Willing to work around debris and dust from wood, fiberglass, carbon fiber, etc.Safety Glasses and shoes may be required.May require area specific safety training.This position works often in a manufacturing environment.
