Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Potsdam, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,229 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 5/26/2026 About the PositionTravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Potsdam, New York, 13676!Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum 1 year of PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years License: NY license required in hand Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Mixed acuity unit experience with PCU, medical-surgical telemetry, and medical patients - Experience managing dysrhythmias, post-myocardial infarction care, and IV insulin protocols - Competence in telemetry, peripheral and central line management, and blood product administration - Familiarity with continuous bladder irrigation and renal failure management - Skills in wound care and non-invasive airway management Description: This position is for a mixed acuity unit that includes PCU, medical-surgical telemetry, and medical patients. The unit has variable patient ratios adjusted by acuity, with night ratios typically ranging from 1:3 to 1:6. The RN will be responsible for assessing and managing patients with various diagnoses, including surgical pre and post-operative care, orthopedic trauma, and overflow medical patients. Float requirements to corresponding units may occur as necessary. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services, to provide comprehensive patient care. Special procedures include those related to trauma surgery, general surgery, and orthopedic surgery. Preferred skills include experience with TCAR and managing patients with complex needs.
