Title: Commercial Litigation AssociateLocation: Parkridge, ILCompensation: $125K-$155KPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join our litigation team and handle a diverse docket of complex commercial disputes. The successful candidate will represent corporate and individual clients in litigation matters, manage case strategy from inception through trial, and work collaboratively with partners and support staff to achieve favorable outcomes. This role offers significant responsibility, client contact, and opportunities to handle depositions, motions, and courtroom advocacy in high-stakes commercial cases.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of commercial litigation matters, including case assessment, pleadings, discovery, and motion practice.Conduct and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and coordinate evidence for trial.Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery requests, briefs, and settlement agreements with clear, persuasive legal writing.Develop and implement litigation strategy in collaboration with partners and senior attorneys, including evaluating risks and recommending strategies for resolution.Handle client communications, prepare status reports, and participate in client meetings to advise on case developments and strategy.Conduct legal research and analyze complex issues in commercial contracts, business torts, partnership disputes, and other commercial matters.Manage fact investigation, coordinate with experts, and organize document production and review.Appear in court for hearings, pretrial conferences, and trial as needed, advocating effectively on behalf of clients.Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals, delegating tasks and providing feedback to ensure high-quality work product.QualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Admission to practice in Illinois 5+ years of experience in commercial litigation at a law firm or in-house legal department; experience with complex civil litigation preferred.Demonstrated experience taking and defending depositions and preparing witnesses for testimony.Strong oral advocacy and courtroom experience, including motion practice and trial participation.Excellent legal research, analytical, and persuasive writing skills with attention to detail.Experience drafting pleadings, discovery requests/responses, briefs, and settlement documents.Commercial law knowledge, including contracts, business torts, shareholder/partner disputes, and related areas.Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines, work independently and collaboratively, and maintain client relationships.Professionalism, integrity, strong work ethic, and commitment to delivering exceptional client service.BenefitsBase Salary: $125,000-$155,000401(k)Dental InsuranceDisability InsuranceHealth InsuranceLife InsurancePaid Parental LeavePaid Time OffPrescription Drug InsuranceVision Insurance Email Your Resume In Word ToDrew.Gilmore@CyberCoders.comLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
