Team members collaborate closely with healthcare and sports professionals to develop innovative solutions that are reliable, secure, and clinically impactful.Role Description As a Software Engineer at Ortheon, you will design, develop, and maintain software systems that power our smart implant technology and data platforms. Your day-to-day work will include implementing back-end services and APIs, writing clean and testable code, integrating with data pipelines and external systems, and collaborating with product, hardware, and clinical teams to translate requirements into technical solutions. You will participate in code reviews, performance optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure reliability, scalability, and security of our applications. This is an internship, remote role based in Miami, FL, requiring regular collaboration with cross-functional colleagues in a lab and office environment.QualificationsStrong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, or similar).Hands-on experience with Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, databases, and cloud or server-side environments.Applied knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and familiarity with design patterns and best practices.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience with testing frameworks, version control (e.g., Git), and collaborative development workflows.Ability to work on-site in Miami, FL, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including hardware and clinical stakeholders.Experience in healthcare, medical devices, embedded systems, or data-intensive applications is a plus, along with an interest in sports and athlete performance.Pay35/hr
