OpenShift Platform Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior OpenShift/Kubernetes Platform Engineer to help design, build, and evolve their enterprise container platform. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on platform architecture, automation, and modernization rather than day-to-day operational support.This individual will lead the design and implementation of OpenShift and Kubernetes capabilities across on-premises and future cloud environments, helping establish a scalable, secure, and resilient platform for modern application deployment. The role offers significant influence in shaping the organization's container strategy and future Azure cloud direction.Responsibilities include:Design, build, and implement OpenShift and Kubernetes platformsLead cluster architecture, deployment, and platform engineering initiativesDevelop infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and related technologiesPartner with infrastructure, application, security, and architecture teams to establish platform standards and best practicesDrive container adoption and cloud-native application strategiesDefine platform governance, security, scalability, and resiliency standardsCreate roadmaps for platform growth, modernization, and future cloud integrationProvide technical leadership and mentorship to internal teamsEstablish high-availability, disaster recovery, and operational frameworks for containerized workloadsInterested candidates should submit resumes to sally.lander@roberthalf.(com).7+ years of infrastructure, platform engineering, or cloud engineering experience3+ years of hands-on OpenShift and/or Kubernetes design and implementation experienceStrong experience building enterprise container platforms, not just administering themExpertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and HelmStrong understanding of networking, container security, and enterprise infrastructure architectureExperience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises environmentsExperience developing CI/CD, GitOps, or cloud-native deployment practicesAbility to influence technical direction and collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholdersPreferredAzure cloud experienceOpenShift certificationsArgoCD or GitOps experienceMulti-cluster Kubernetes environmentsExperience leading cloud transformation or platform modernization initiativesThis role is ideal for someone who has designed and built OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms and wants the opportunity to influence long-term platform and cloud strategy.Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
