CNC Machining Specialist (Milling & Turning)

Location: Baltimore, MDEmployment Type: Contract-to-HirePay: Starting at $28/hour (higher based on experience)We are seeking an experienced CNC Machining Specialist to join a growing manufacturing team. This contract-to-hire role involves hands-on work producing high-precision components using CNC milling and turning equipment in a fast-paced shop environment.What You’ll Do:Set up and operate multi-axis CNC vertical and horizontal milling machinesInterpret blueprints, job travelers, and technical instructionsProduce precision parts to tight tolerances (± .002")Inspect completed components using standard measuring toolsMake program edits and assist in creating CNC programs as neededDevelop and refine fixturing and setups for repeat production runsTroubleshoot machining and setup issues with minimal supervisionMaintain workflow efficiency and adhere to production timelinesFollow safety procedures and maintain a clean work areaWhat We’re Looking For:3+ years of CNC programming experience4-5 years of experience with machine setup and fixturingFamiliarity with SolidWorks CAM ProStrong understanding of tooling selection, feeds and speeds, and machining techniquesExperience working with aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steelAdditional Experience Preferred:Hands-on experience with lathes, drilling, grinding, milling, and hand toolsAbility to perform basic machine maintenanceStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityTeam-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate on process improvementsWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
