Position - Foreman Location - VA beach area About The RoleThe Foreman for Wastewater plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards. This position is responsible for managing a team of technicians and laborers, coordinating work schedules, and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The Foreman will serve as the primary point of contact between field staff and management, facilitating communication and problem-solving to maintain uninterrupted plant operations. Additionally, the role involves monitoring equipment performance, conducting inspections, and implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime. Ultimately, the Foreman ensures that wastewater treatment processes meet quality standards, protecting public health and the environment while optimizing operational productivity.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in wastewater treatment or related field preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience working in wastewater treatment operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.Valid wastewater treatment operator certification appropriate to the state of employment.Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and safety regulations.Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and regulatory guidelines.Preferred QualificationsAssociate degree or higher in environmental science, engineering technology, or related discipline.Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and operational software.Certification in OSHA safety standards or equivalent safety training.Demonstrated leadership experience in managing diverse teams in an industrial or utility setting.Familiarity with environmental compliance reporting and permit requirements.ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate daily activities of wastewater treatment plant staff to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.Monitor plant equipment and processes, identifying issues and implementing corrective actions promptly.Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks to prevent equipment failures and ensure regulatory compliance.Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to promote skill development and adherence to safety protocols.Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and incident reports for management review.Collaborate with management to develop and implement operational plans, budgets, and improvement initiatives.Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local environmental regulations and safety standards.SkillsThe Foreman utilizes technical knowledge of wastewater treatment processes daily to oversee plant operations and troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
