PCICU / CVPICU NP/PA Opportunity San Francisco, CaliforniaStart Date: As soon as credentialed 60-90 daysContract Length: 6 months, option to extendScheduleVariable 12 hour shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays)Must be able to provide 50% night or weekend coverageMinimum: 4 12 hour shifts/monthCall: Options for night/weekend call (not guaranteed)Full time variable coverage requiredCredentialing timeframe: daysPractice DetailsSetting: Inpatient PCICU / CVPICU (Hospital)EMR: EpicAvg census: patients/dayPatient population:Pediatrics + neonates8% adult congenitalMajority surgicalHigh acuity cardiovascular casesSignificant heart failure populationVent management, pre/post op, cardiac cath patientsFrequent ECMO, CRRT, transplant related careSupport Staff:2 teams each with: 1 attending, 3 NPs, 1 fellowOvernight: 1 attending + 2 NPsProcedures:APPs may perform IVs, arterial linesPossible intubation or central lines (most done by fellow/attending)Clinical ScopeResponsibilities include:Managing high acuity PCICU patients across neonatal pediatric limited adult congenitalCardiovascular critical care managementECMO/CRRT/Bags experience strongly preferredPre-/post operative managementVentilator managementDaily rounding, orders, assessments, documentationWorking within a large academic children s hospital environmentExperience:Minimum 1 year PCICU experience (no surgery/stepdown backgrounds accepted)Pediatric cardiovascular critical care requiredHeart failure experience preferredMust be comfortable with high acuity, fast moving ICU workflowsFlexibility for nights/weekends requiredStrong communication and ability to work within multidisciplinary teamsRequirementsAdvanced Practice Provider NP or PANP Board Certification: CPNP AC requiredLicense: Active California license required (NPs must have CA; PAs may submit without CA license)DEA: CA DEA with Schedule IICertifications: AHA BLS & PALS requiredExperience: Minimum 1 year of PCICU cardiovascular critical careFurnishing License: Required for NPCOVID 19 vaccine + booster (medical/religious exemptions allowed)Flu vaccineTB screeningMMRHepatitis BTdapPhysical examDrug screenCredentialingStandard inpatient credentialing days (strict completion required)Two interviews expected (manager + medical director)Name clear required only for providers who have worked in the system beforeIf you are interested or would like to be presented, please reach out to me for more details.We also hire numerous other positions locally & nationwide.
