Program SummaryThe Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Mobility and Training Aircraft Directorate is responsible for developing, producing, and sustaining the United States Air Force (USAF) aerial refueling “tanker” fleet and has a requirement to support its on-going tanker recapitalization effort at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.Job SummaryKBR is seeking an experienced Avionics Systems Engineer to support the acquisition of Tanker Recap/NGAS (Next Generation Air refueling System) systems and dissect the integration of advanced avionics and sensor systems and subsystems for the. Candidate should be experienced and successful at solving complex system integration and engineering issues, enjoy working in a dynamic, responsive, and collaborative environment, and dedicated to the success of our customers against advanced, persistent threats.Roles And ResponsibilitiesKnowledge of systems engineering principles, verification and validation of requirements, and understanding the Air Force’s acquisition processes is requiredGuide and mentor the USG engineering force how to comply with the principles of Government Reference Architectures as a part of their daily dutiesProvide technical inputs, assessments and management of program engineering efforts in support of the acquisition strategy for each caseCoordinate with program manager for specific design requirement and understand the requirement for the tasksAbility to Draft, review, coordinate, and update (as necessary) Engineering Analysis documentsStrong communication skills with customers, end users, and analysts in order to provide recommended contractual language to specific test-related sections of solicitationsPerform other duties as assigned by managementBasic QualificationsBS in Engineering or related field and 15+ years of directly related experience is requiredExperience with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Government Reference Architecture (GRA)Current experience and knowledge of the DoD acquisition processes and other service specific requirements is preferredPreferred QualificationsDAWIA Level III Certification in Engineering or Systems EngineeringIdeal candidate would have experience with system engineering processes and experience with Avionics and sensor analysisExperience with ACAT Level I programs desiredKBR BenefitsKBR offers a selection of competitive lifestyle benefits which could include 401K plan with company match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, flexible spending account, disability, paid time off, or flexible work schedule.
