We are seeking a candidate who will teach courses in our core music history sequence for music majors (Intro to Music Literature, Music History 900-1800, and Music History Since 1800) as well as elective courses in the candidate’s area(s) of expertise. Teaching interests that explore vernacular music and/or non-western traditions, or intersect with other areas within the fine arts, liberal arts or sciences are desirable. The department encourages applications from candidates with a demonstrated interest in fostering inclusive experiences in the classroom, curricular innovation, and pedagogical creativity. Visiting full-time faculty at Southwestern University teach 6 courses per year (3-3).QualificationsD.M.A. or Ph.D. in Music with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline; ABD candidates with demonstrated experience will be considered.Demonstrated teaching experience.
