Structural Engineer: Level 2On-site | Lyndhurst, NJ (NYC Metro)Our client is a growing, design-focused structural engineering consultancy that partners with marquee retail, commercial, and civic owners nationwide. Known for delivering elegant, cost-effective solutions across steel, concrete, timber, and masonry systems, the firm is expanding its Northeast office and is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to help drive complex building projects from concept through construction.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce structural calculations and design documentation for low- to mid-rise buildings utilizing steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.Coordinate with drafters, architects, and MEP partners to develop clear, permit-ready drawings that meet schedule commitments.Evaluate multiple design schemes and recommend cost-effective solutions to unique structural challenges.Track personal project hours and milestones, helping the team deliver work on time and within budget.Review and redline drawings, perform quality checks, and generate project-specific connection details.Perform solo site visits to capture current conditions and confirm construction alignment.Mentor junior engineers while championing a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.Stay current with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI standards while actively pursuing (or maintaining) PE licensure.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil or Structural Engineering.3+ years of U.S. structural design experience (buildings or similar).EIT/FE certification and an established plan to earn PE licensure.Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, RAM, ETABS) and AutoCAD or Revit.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Preferred ExtrasActive PE license in any state.Experience leading field assessments and forensic investigations.Familiarity with cold-formed steel, light-gage framing, or mass timber design.What We OfferCompetitive base salary, plus annual bonus potential.Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match.Formal PE study support and paid professional development.Collaborative culture with direct access to firm leadership and rapid career growth opportunities.Ready to engineer the next chapter of your career?
