Are you excited by the prospect of working for an organization that truly values your contributions, provides opportunities for growth and development, AND gives you a chance to make a difference in the lives of children and families?WHAT YOU WILL DO:The Transportation Support Specialist is a non-exempt position responsible for providing transportation and on-site supervision to children in out-of-home care.Provide transportation and supervision of children to/from school, office, foster and/or group homes, and other locations in the communityProvide supervision to youth at the office, during transport, or in other community locations, as requiredProvide, strengthen, and maintain a positive mentoring role by developing rapport with youth under supervisionUtilize de-escalation and intervention techniques to assist in stabilizing youth in crisisAssist other program staff and intervene in crisis situations as necessaryAttempt to create, strengthen, and maintain positive, supportive working relationships between youth, caregivers, and other professionals involved in serving the youthProvide completed documentation for services rendered within the required timeframes to case management program staffAssist with on-call when necessary in accordance with agency policy and program procedureMaintain client confidentiality according to established policies, federal and state statutes, by obtaining needed releases of informationPerform all other duties as assignedAvailable Shift:* 6:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.WHAT WE OFFER:$20.00 per hourPaid Time Off (PTO) based on the number of hours workedImmediate eligibility for our 403 b Savings Plan with a 25% matchContinuous training and professional development opportunitiesMileage ReimbursementAn opportunity to make the world a better place!WHAT YOU WILL NEED:Must have a High School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of one (1) year of experience working with children and/or families preferredKnowledge of child development preferredExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to be dependable, flexible, and empatheticAbility to function independently and as a team memberAbility to use verbal de-escalation skillsAbility to work in high-stress situationsAbility to work with individuals who exhibit physically and/or verbally aggressive behaviorsAbility to lift and/or carry up to 50 poundsMust have a valid driver's license with auto insurance coverageWHO WE ARE:From babies to seniors, Gulf Coast JFCS serves all people in need, regardless of race, religion, culture, or gender identity.
