Clinical Documentation Specialist

Inpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist (ICDIS) – Remote Location: 100% Remote (Candidates can work from anywhere within the U.S.) Schedule: Sunday – Thursday Hours: 40 hours/week + overtime as needed Contract Length: 30 Weeks Guaranteed Hours: 40/week We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist (ICDIS) to join a remote healthcare documentation and compliance team. The ideal candidate will have strong inpatient CDI experience, concurrent medical record review expertise, and advanced knowledge of ICD coding, disease processes, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities: Perform concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient medical records to identify documentation improvement opportunities Ensure documentation accurately reflects severity of illness, risk of mortality, medical necessity, co-morbidities, and complexity of care Validate coding accuracy and support compliant coding and billing practices Collaborate with physicians, coding teams, nursing, case management, and allied healthcare staff to clarify documentation gaps Facilitate compliant physician queries and documentation modifications Apply federal/state regulations, coding guidelines, and payer-specific documentation requirements Educate providers and healthcare staff on clinical documentation integrity standards and best practices Support quality improvement initiatives and documentation compliance efforts Maintain productivity and quality standards while working independently in a remote environment Requirements : Minimum 2 years of experience in an Inpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist (ICDIS) role Minimum 12 months of current production experience Experience with concurrent review of medical records and ICD coding Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and critical thinking skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Required Certifications/Credentials (one or more required): CDIP or CCDS RHIT or RHIA RN or RRT CCS or CCS-P International or Domestic Medical Degree Education : High School Diploma or GED required Preferred Skills: Knowledge of disease processes/pathophysiology Knowledge of medications/pharmacology Regulatory compliance experience Strong collaboration and communication abilities About Pride Health- Pride Health offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors Equal Employment Opportunity Pride Health is an equal opportunity employer.
