Job Title: Automation & Integration Engineer (AI & Systems Optimization)Location: Remote (Global)Salary: $1,400 – $4,200 USD/month (based on experience)Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (PST)Type: Independent ContractorAbout the RoleThis is not a traditional IT support role. We’re hiring a systems-minded Automation & Integration Engineer to eliminate inefficiencies, automate workflows, and connect tools across the business. Your success will be measured by how much time you save the team, how many manual processes you eliminate, and how seamlessly systems operate together.You’ll work across departments to identify bottlenecks, design automations, and implement scalable solutions—leveraging APIs, integration tools, and AI where applicable.What You’ll Own (Outcomes)Reduce manual work by building automations across core business workflowsDesign and implement integrations that eliminate data silosImprove team efficiency through scalable, reusable systemsIdentify and fix operational bottlenecks across departmentsIntroduce AI-driven solutions that enhance productivity and decision-makingKey ResponsibilitiesAnalyze workflows across teams to identify inefficiencies and automation opportunitiesBuild automations using tools like Zapier, Make, n8n, Power Automate, or custom scriptsDevelop integrations between internal systems using APIs and webhooksSupport basic IT operations and resolve tickets when neededImplement AI tools to streamline processes (e.g., automation, alerts, workflows)Document systems and processes to ensure scalability and maintainabilityCollaborate with stakeholders to deliver practical, high-impact solutionsMust-Have Experience2–5+ years in automation, systems engineering, IT operations, or similar rolesHands-on experience with automation tools (Zapier, Make, n8n, Power Automate, etc.)Experience working with APIs, integrations, and data flows between platformsStrong problem-solving mindset with the ability to independently identify solutionsAbility to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersNice-to-HaveExperience implementing AI tools in workflows (LLMs, copilots, automation agents)Scripting experience (Python, JavaScript, or similar)Experience working in operations-heavy or process-driven environmentsBackground in systems design, infrastructure, or internal toolingWhat Success Looks Like (90 Days)You’ve identified and automated at least 2–3 high-impact workflowsKey systems are better integrated with reduced manual interventionTeams rely on your solutions to operate faster and more efficientlyYou proactively surface and solve inefficiencies without being prompted
