DPR Construction is seeking to fill a key role as the Virtual Design & Construction, Field Technician - Manager. The successful candidate will support implementation of building control and/or laser scanning capture and post-processing efforts across the Raleigh-Durham Business Unit.ResponsibilitiesPerform Advanced 3D LiDAR scanning in complex situations and environmentsPerform Advanced sUAS data collection and processing opportunitiesDevelop and improve current workflowsCreate new and powerful Reality Capture deliverables to be utilized by varying teamsBuild and Manage a team of VDC Field Technicians for the local business unitSchedule and Manage Field Technician Activities for the Business UnitPlan, manage and deliver consistent reality capture activities for multiple construction projectsSupport on-site construction team efforts in the implementation of field VDC applications, processes, and deliverables; support setup of BIM to Field equipment and/or softwareWork with local and remote teams to automate the data processing pipelineTraining and best practice implementation through one on one trainings, group trainings, webinars and symposiums.Train, educate and mentor project personnel in various field technology software and processesBusiness Unit Financial management for Field Technician ActivitiesBusiness unit field technician asset management and cost recoveryWork collaboratively with business unit marketing teams to showcase Reality Capture and VDC related activitiesAttend and participate in Pre-Con meetings and activitiesScheduling of Field Technician activities with business unit project teams.Actively participate in business unit Planning and Pursuit opportunitiesBasic QualificationsWe are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented individual that will relish performing in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, with ability to multi-task, produce quality deliverables, and meet project-based deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:Ability to work in a flat-organization environment that requires full transparency, team collaboration, leading by influencing, and socialization of initiativesPosition requires lifting and carrying moderately heavy equipment (25lbs+), climbing ladders and occasionally scanning crawl spaces and enclosed ceilings.Flexible hours; Commercial building scans can start at 6AM and occasionally require weekend workTravel at least 50% of the time, at various construction sites; plan and execute multiple projects dailyMinimum 3+ years of construction technologies hands-on experience in the AEC industryAble to read and understand construction documents, shop drawings and plansAdvanced robotic total station knowledge and 3+ years of implementation experience in construction industry3D scanning hardware and software knowledge with 3+ years of implementation experience in construction industryAdvanced knowledge in Autodesk Recap, Faro Scene, Trimble RealWorks, and/or Leica Cyclone software packagesAdvanced knowledge in Revit Point Layout or AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or building point software packagesAdvanced knowledge of Pix4D and/or other photogrammetry post-processing software packagesAdvanced level software knowledge in Autodesk packages (i.e.: Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, etc.) and other platformsAbility to quickly learn new software tools and teach othersTotal Station and/or Laser Scan course certification(s)Part 107 Commercial Drone Pilot CertificationCMiC or equivalent financial software expertiseExperience building and leading teamsAbility to manage, train and develop new and existing team membersRequired EducationMinimum 5-7+ years’ relevant technical experienceBachelors’ Degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or similar fieldDPR Construction is a forward-thinking, self-performing general contractor specializing in technically complex and sustainable projects for the advanced technology, life sciences, healthcare, higher education and commercial markets.
