Job Summary
As a member of the College of Engineering and Computer Science, the web developer will work closely with the Associate and Assistant Deans and be responsible for building upon the existing system, developed as part of a CECS winter 2024 senior design project. This will include additional functionality and integration into the university web environment. The application must be deployment ready for the winter 2025 semester and will be used to support the 2025 Senior Design Day, a marquee event for the college.
Responsibilities*
Responsibilities include:
Review and enhance the existing software application
Develop new functionalities to support different users (e.g., student, faculty, judges)
Follow the University's brand identity guidelines visual aspects such as font and color.
Testing and validation of functionality to ensure accuracy and completeness
Deployment of the system in January 2025, including the integration into the university environment and user training
Documentation and tutorial videos to ensure usability and maintainability of the system
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area
Experience in web design and development environments (e.g., DigitalOcean)
Experience in developing applications to support complex event administration and management (e.g., CECS Senior Design Day, conferences, research showcase)
Ability to analyze pre-existing software applications and move them to production
Excellent written communication and organization skills
Highly detail-oriented with excellent time-management skills
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to the university's brand identity guidance
Desired Qualifications*
Experience with the DigitalOcean development environment
CECS Senior Design Day experience from a student perspective
Ability to complete task in a timely and efficient manner
Ability to collaborate and work well as team
