Bilingual Enrollment Specialist (Regional Sales Associate)

*On the road/remote: Los Angeles Territory* (Pay Range: $100,000 annually + DOE) Purpose of Position: To expertly enroll and underwrite group cases for Word & Brown General Agency. Work closely with agents, group contacts, group representatives, and the underwriting department. In addition, present the products and services of Word & Brown to brokers and clients and maintain and develop brokers to increase territory sales. Regional Sales Associates are the “face” of Word & Brown, and this position represents the company at industry events, trade shows, and Health Underwriter meetings. Essential Functions: Confirm sale, verify and/or prepare enrollment materials and conduct enrollment meetings as requested by brokers and group representatives. Personally underwrite cases and work closely with our underwriting administrators and specialists to create an effective and efficient underwriting department, based on the guidelines provided by the headquarters underwriting team. Prepare enrollment kits and perform administrative duties. Service top brokers as defined by the Regional Vice President and group sales representatives. Assist with seminars and various broker events during down time. Produce monthly activity reports. Meet with agents and clients daily in the field to maintain relationships and generate new business written through Word & Brown. Conduct client sales presentations, updating agents on the ever-changing group health marketplace regarding plan design and creates a strong network by making sales recommendations. Drive new opportunities for new Small and Large Group sales with assigned brokers. Proactive engagement with brokers includes but is not limited to outreach through phone calls, asking for business, networking, value prop presentations, increase new selling brokers, and focus on cross-selling groups. Track retained small and large group premiums in previous year, compared to the current year, to ensure exceeding of monthly goals. Track assigned case count to ensure cross-selling to drive and meet assigned monthly premium goal. Execute sales plans and strategies effectively to reach potential customers within own sales territory or block and meet new business goal each month. Generate referrals by effective networking efforts, develop sales and marketing plans and create effective call plans. Maximize growth potential in assigned territory or block. Target and know the specific number of renewals in assigned territory on a monthly basis to manage renewal book and meet required renewal goal each month. R&R initiatives include, but are not limited to marketing, client presentations, enrollments and following up with Account Managers to ensure group is renewed while receiving Service of Unequalled Excellence. Participate in region initiatives for special events from Top Producers to local industry events. Proficiency in presenting our Value Prop to targeted agencies. Adopt and grow in Salesforce skillsets. Log all activities in Salesforce within one (1) business day. On-site or remote regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job. Perform other business tasks or functions as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Two to three (2-3) years of industry experience in small group sales, underwriting, or client services. California Life & Health Producer License required. Be proactive by writing emails, making outbound calls, and answering broker calls to win opportunities. Respond same day or within 24 hours. Must possess a valid California driver’s license, have, and maintain proper car insurance. Must be able to travel at any time. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Outlook. Strong attention to detail and quality in producing results. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English and be able to communicate and present information clearly and concisely. Outstanding organizational skills. Multi-tasking skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Bilingual Spanish preferred. Proper phone etiquette, including ability and willingness to make numerous “cold calls” to prospective association members. Ability to negotiate and schedule one on one meetings by using solid persuasion and sales skills. Proficient at making sales presentations, using technology and interactive participation. Positive attitude and high energy required. Adhere to all PHI (Protected Health Information) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines. Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and occasional standing and walking. Must have adequate hearing for phone work. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Must be able to use a keyboard and other office equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
