Security Officers will be trained, certified, and licensed within compliance with the Washington Department of Licensing and the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission by VSO prior to their first shift.Job Duties:Maintain a visual presence to deter potential suspicious activity.Write clear and thorough reports for clients.Patrol client properties for any suspicious activity, security threats, and deescalate or handle stressful situations as they arise.Contact law enforcement or the fire department for extreme situations.Reasonably detain persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.Perform other related duties as assigned.Starting Pay Rates:Armed Security Officer - $23.00 - $27.00/hrRequirements:Be 21 years of age or olderMust have an active armed guard cardPossess a High School Diploma or equivalent.Possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable.Must have a clean driving record & provide driving record upon hireMust have reliable transportation.Must be able to successfully complete a background check.Personal firearm required, job offer could be contingent until proof of purchase of firearm.Must provide 2 personal references.Pre-employment drug screening.Must be able to read/write/speak English.Preferred Qualifications:Active Washington Security Guard License (armed)2+ Years of prior security experience ORPrior Military experience ORPrior Law Enforcement experienceCustomer Service backgroundKnowledge of Veteran Security Operations and our missionJob Types: Part-time, Full-timeJob Types: Full-time, Part-timeSalary: $22.00 - $27.00 per hourBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insuranceVision insuranceSchedule:10 hour shift12 hour shift8 hour shiftNight shiftOvertimeWeekend availabilityApplication Question(s):How many years of security service experience do you have?How many years of customer service experience do you have?Do you have an active guard card in the state of WA?Do you currently own a firearm?Are you currently serving in the military or have previously served in the U.S. military?License/Certification:Driver's LicenseActive Washington State Guard License (Armed)Work Location: SeattleCompany DescriptionWho Are We?In order to make an application, simply read through the following job description and make sure to attach relevant documents.Veterans Security Operations (VSO) stands as your proactive, veteran-founded local security solution.
