Title: Azure ArchitectLocation: NJ / Pittsburgh (Local Preferred, 1x/week onsite in Pittsburgh)Duration: 6+ Months ContractExperience: 9 15 YearsRole OverviewOur client is seeking an Azure Architect to lead the design, implementation, and migration of enterprise cloud environments. This role requires strong collaboration across application, infrastructure, and security teams to build a scalable, secure, and well-governed Azure platform.Responsibilities & QualificationsLead design and implementation of Azure cloud architecture (landing zones, VNETs, identity, hybrid connectivity)Assess current environments and develop architecture designs, documentation, and migration strategiesDrive Azure migration initiatives (on-prem to cloud, modernization, containerization)Collaborate with AppDev, Infrastructure, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely deliveryImplement DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep)Design and deploy cloud-native applications using PaaS and container-based solutionsEnsure strong security, governance, and compliance controls (RBAC, Key Vault, Defender, policies)Establish monitoring, logging, and performance observability frameworksSupport firewall configurations and secure hybrid cloud networkingProvide training, documentation, and knowledge transfer to internal teamsRequirementsStrong expertise in Azure architecture and cloud designHands-on experience with Azure migration tools (Azure Migrate, VMs, App Services)Experience with containerization and Azure Container Apps / KubernetesStrong background in DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as CodeExperience with Azure security, governance, and compliance frameworksAbility to work across hybrid environments and complex enterprise networksStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsFamiliarity with Java (Spring ecosystem) is a plus
