La Senza’s mission is empowering women to feel sexy and confident in every way without feeling guilty about the price.Position SummaryThe Accountant is responsible for the increasingly complex activities across store inventory, sales audit, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, revenue, accruals and other areas including the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant financial reports. Related duties include ensuring ledger entries and account reconciliations are prepared correctly and timely. This position assists in month-end; quarter-end and year-end closing process and will be responsible for assisting in reporting, analytics and forecasts/budgets. The Accountant will report to the Manager of Financial Reporting or accounting operations.ResponsibilitiesMust possess ability to:Prepare journal entriesReconcile and maintain balance sheet accountsPerform financial analysis and generate conclusions and recommendationsEnsure compliance to GAAP and company departmental standards and controlsComply with legal and ethical standardsFollow up on all outstanding issues on a timely basisMaintain excellent customer service with internal and external partnersAssist with special projects and department goalsProactively identify areas of opportunity /weakness and recommend solutionsQualificationsOne to five years of related financial analysis, audit or accounting experience Understanding of GAAPAbility to prepare work timely and accuratelyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong problem solving skillsInterest in advancementProficiency in Microsoft Excel and large-scale accounting systems preferredEDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
